Artist Statement
Uncluttered composition, and luscious layers form the foundation upon which I build my work. I do two and three-dimensional pieces which vary from the refined and elegant to the absolutely absurd. I have been a student of art since 1945, and an observer of the visual and psychological world around me since my earliest memory. I am attracted to images from nature, Asia, treasures from the past, and the ordinary. Through the power of observation and employing a keen sense of humor, I am able to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. Working in mixed media, with unbounded enthusiasm and homage to the "Empress of Art," I joyously push the boundaries of visual adventure. |
